French Fries with Furikake Seasoning

You might not have heard of it before, but you’ve probably already tasted Furikake, especially if you regularly dine in Japanese restaurants. A combination of seaweed, dried bonito flakes and sesame seeds, Furikake is usually sprinkled on steamed rice. But for this side dish, it is used as a tasty sweet/salty topping for French fries. Two tablespoons will do for a baked or fried batch (of course, don’t forget to season with salt as well).

Most Asian markets sell this condiment, which comes in small cans and a variety of flavors. It’s an easy and simple solution if you’re looking to spice up your fries!
