Some people frown upon the idea of using store-brought barbecue sauce. That’s understandable since homemade is always better. But this doesn’t mean that you can never use commercial products any more.
If you’re short on time, what you can do is to spice up the sauce with vinegar and cayenne to give it a touch of homemade. This is what the author did for this Kaiser roll cayenne pork burger with slaw. The improved sauce is then mixed into the meat as marinade, and slathered on top of the cooked burger before it is fully cooked.
