According to stories, the Reuben sandwich was invented in 1914 by Arnold Reuben Jr. who made it for actress Annette Seelos. But another version of the story says that it was first created in 1925 when Reuben Kulakofsky made a sandwich for his fellow poker player who happened to be an owner of a hotel and restaurant.
Whichever of the two versions is correct, one fact remains: the Reuben sandwich is one of the best sandwiches ever invented. So it’s not a surprise that many people want to take credit for its creation. This sandwich is made of rye bread loaded with Swiss cheese, corned beef, Russian dressing and sauerkraut.
