To make this amazing flavor-packed snack, the author of the recipe suggests using yam in lieu of traditional sweet potatoes since yams crisp up better. She used her mandolin to cut super thin slices of the yam. She then tossed the yam slices with garlic powder, onion powder, canola oil and salt before baking in the oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F.

Keep a watchful eye on these sweet potato crisps because they burn easily. A few minutes before they’re done, turn off the heat and open the oven door a little. Let them stay in there for another 30 minutes. This would make them really crispy.
